Dr. Christopher Atkinson is a board-certified neuroradiologist who specializes in brain, head and neck, and spine imaging. He completed his fellowship in neuroradiology at the University of North Carolina in 2017 and currently serves as the Chief of Neuroradiology and MRI at Wilford Hall in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Atkinson has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He serves on the educational committee for the American Society of Neuroradiology, and is a case editor for the Radiology Society of North America. Dr. Atkinson was recently awarded a Certificate of Merit at the 2020 annual American Society of Neuroradiology meeting for his work on a publication entitled Calcifying Lesions and Pseduolesions of the Neuroaxis with Focus on Capnon. He was also awarded a separate certificate of merit at the 2020 American Roentgen Ray Society meeting for his publication When is Restricted Diffusion Not a Stroke? A Differential Diagnosis Review of Restricted Diffusion on Brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
